It is a progressive loss of cartilage in the joint between the humeral head and glenoid of the scapula. This may be due to a degenerative process, trauma or rupture of the tendons of the shoulder.
Treatment can be:
- Non-surgical treatmentr: rest, physiotherapy and painkillers, exercises. Even steroid injections of (such as cortisone) or a hyaluronan injection .
- Surgical: shoulder replacement is a treatment option when pain does not respond to conservative treatment.
